If someone with an F-350 4x4 Camper Special already has received an elite (or maybe even deluxe) Marti report they may be able to share the production numbers for those options.

It obviously wouldn't give the specific breakdown for this truck specifically, but would possibly give us a rough idea of how many were out there.

Cool truck by the way. Maybe a dumb question: was the bed-side toolbox not a necessity when ordering a camper special in '79?

My trailer special had sway bars and horns, 79 f350 4x4. Might have been dealer added though, can't be certain.

So sway bars pretty much make it a camper special? Would this be the same on 250's?

Actually, I had a 1979 f350 4x4 that I bought from original owner, paperwork documented, and title as well, that was a bare bones truck, 4x4, regcab, 400 4 spd am radio, it had ranger trim and dual tanks is all I saw.

According the the Marti report on my truck, a '79 F350 Supercab Lariat 4X4, it is a Trailer Special. When I bought the truck, though, it had a flatbed on it. When the previous owner bought it, it had a utility bed on it. So, I have no way of knowing if the original bed had the toolbox built in the side of the bed, or if the truck had the Trailer Special emblem on the tailgate. It does have front and rear sway bars and two horns. BTW, I had to disconnect the horns on my trip home to Washington after buying the truck in Oklahoma, because every time I'd turn the steering wheel, the horn would honk. I got some dirty looks from a big, mean-looking dude in the car in front of me at a gas station when I was maneuvering away from the pumps, because he thought I was honking at him. I thought he was going to pick a fight with me, but he drove away. Everybody at that crowded gas station was staring at me.

Be ADVISED, that factory dana 60 front differential is complete garbage, I will be happy to help you out and drive to wherever you are at, help you remove that horrible front dana 60, and install my clearly superior dana 44 free of charge.

Don't thank me, Im just that kind of guy,

Kidding, youre truck is amazing, youre a lucky dude.

Takes more than horns to make a camper special package!

The Camper Specials typically have super cooling (4 core radiator), second battery, sway bars, camper/trailer wiring, bigger rear spring pack and CS badges

The 73-79 4x2 F-350s also had 140" wheelbase with bed side mounted spare behind a panel-no tool box. Not sure about the 4x4s
