Lightbulb 78 Bronco 460 swap

I have a 78 bronco that I bought, in pieces, to be put back together into an offroader. It had the stock 351m in it, but I decided to go bigger, and found a 460. Bored .030 over, runs well needs a carb rebuild. Couple of questions relating to that swap. One being the c6. I'm not 100% sure what year the motor is. Pre-74. Was pulled from a 74 f350. If I'm planning on running in the local mud drags next year, is the c6 going to hold up? Or should I switch to a t18? Already has the 205 transfer case.
And secondly, will the 460 fit in the enine bay sans modifications to the bay?
The broncos I've come across as "done out" the 460 swap seems fairly common. So I figured id ask see who's done one before and knows what the hiccups and hangups are.

No mods to the sheetmetal. You will need some 460 swap engine mounts, if the C6 is in good shape it should hold up fine for some fun in the mud. If you want to stick with manifolds do some research as to what fits the best. I just went with L&L fender well exit headers because I got a screaming deal on a barely used set. Good luck and you will probably get more response if you post up in the 78-96 Bronco section.

Thanks for the heads up. I thought of that after I posted. I'm pretty sure I had a reason for throwing it up here. Probably something to do with the 460 and identifying what year it is. But then I never did. I'm sure there's identification theads out there anyways.

TransDapt offers 460 swap mounts. You'll need to find your own shells. The parts are available through Summit Racing.

For a bogger, I'd stick with an automatic.

Check if that 460 is externally balanced. Look for this part behind the balancer.

I have these mounts on mine.
Way better than rubber swap mount.

The exhaust manifolds from the 74 f350 should work, you will need to modify exhaust pipes. You need a rear sump oil pan, oil pump, oil pickup. As mentioned you need swap motor mounts. Trans and torque converter should bolt up to the 460 just fine.
