i know this could be one of a million things but some new nsight would be helpful...
when i stop myu front end makes a creaking sound lke maybe sommething is overtght or too loose and bindng...i am lost cause everythng looks good and ALL the front end bushings are POLYURETHANE (radius arms, sway bars, endlnks etc...) HELP!
I have a '97 that does the same thing, but my son-in-law found the problem for me. It was the lower half of the steering shaft. It slides over the upper half and was dry, no lube left. I used some white lithium grease on it and it has been quiet ever since.
The symptoms were a creaking sound whenever I came to a stop or started off from a light.
WD40 is what I used first to verify the location of the problem but it has no staying power. Too close to the engine I think. It just boils off in about an hour of driving. But the white lithium grease has worked better although in my case I am going to have to replace the lower steering column part because the rubber boot is torn. It is starting to grind a bit in the joint. But I think you will find that the grease helps with the creaking sound. It sure did for me.
It was pretty simple on mine. Follow the steering column from the firewall down and you will find a lower shaft that slides over the top one. That is where my creaking was coming from. Maybe yours is caused by something else. I was just helping with my experiences. I am sorry if I did not offer a solution to your problem. I certainly did not mean to lead you astray.
