The previous owner of your truck broke the first rule of engine swaps... Do no use any wiring that comes with the donor motor. Your best bet is to get an engine harness for a '94 5.0/5.8 truck and use that. But while you are at it check into what motor the truck originally had, look for the emissions decal on the rad support or decode the VIN, because if the truck had an I6 then you need a different computer too. A Mustang computer would only be a good option if the truck has a manual trans because the truck auto transmissions are PCM controlled.

Need to know what transmission you have then go from there.
I recently had a similar dilemma: I wanted to run a H.O. motor with a mustang PCM, truck is a manual. I could either modify the 25 year old working harness I had to work with the mustang computer or modify an unkown mustang harness.
What I found was these members (conanski) suggested to modify my working truck harness. After going through it I believe it was the right choice.
So lets say hypothetically have a manual, then the right mustang PCM would work. What you should know is that there are parts of the truck vs. mustang harnesses that are unique to that vehicle, and you might be opening up a can of worms trying to get a mustang harness to fit, let along be wired correctly. Starting with a working truck harness (depending if it is SD or MAF already, my truck was SD) you can carefully undo the loom, identify the wires that need to be moved, deleted, or added, then plug them into the right connector pin, then take your sweet time re-looming and taping the harness back together new and know it will fit right to the engine throughout the bay, and all you ignition and dash readouts should work hassle free. It's not as bad as it sounds, I got all my information from this forum!!
Let us know what your transmission is please

But it isn't. There are very big differences in the way the two vehicles are wired and the Mustang has a different version of the EFI system so there is nothing at all common in the wiring between the vehicles and you simply cannot mix and match parts of the harness. And.. if your truck has an auto trans then you must use the truck PCM and a complete truck wiring harness, so the simplest solution is to get a '94 truck engine harness, remove the Mustang intake and replace it with a truck intake and plug everything in.

Am about to do the same thing to my 92 f150 flareside, I have a 302HO with 130 thousand miles from my 93 mustang the only thing am doing is swapping heads and putting the GTs out of 96 Explorer. From what I've read is ill will need the oil pan and pick up tube and the complete intake. You'll best beet is to pick up a harness from a 94-95 F150 and if possible the computer as well and install the trucks intake and you should be good
