Tranny issues and throttle jacked

So I made a previous thread about replacing the shift forks. We got the replacement forks and about to put it together. The only thingthing is I was told to put it in neutral after I had already taken in apart. It may be in some random gear or could be in 2 gears at once... here's a picture of it. Don't know what to do or how to get it in neutral and be able to get the cover back on....

Gear picture

Also when the truck is running the throttle is hard to push and when it finally moves it goes up to 2500 rpm or so. I have no way to feather the throttle and when you have a manual that's unacceptable. Could be the cable but I'm not sure. Whatever it is it makes in undrivable. Please help as I need to get it out and running sometime today!!!

I know its in a gear as I put the cover on temporally and thought the forks were lined up. I put it in neutral and let the clutch out and it jumped forward a little and stalled.

The least you can do is give an explanation, of what it was that you did to fix it, there may be others that wind up in a similar situation and need some help. It would also help to post the year, model, engine and trans. Thanks

My bad... It'sa 93 F-150 XLT With the 5.0 302 in it and the tranny is the M5OD R2. I just lined the shift forks with the shift collars and put it all back together. Shifted through all the gears a few times to make sure it was solid and started it up and drove just fine. The throttle I'm still having issues with though. Sticky and hard when running and feels fine when the truckis shut off.

Thanks for the feedback, did you clean the TB? sometimes the blade(butterfly) gets carboned up and sticks when you try to accelerate.

It's also very common for the throttle blade to bind in the throttle body bore if someone played with the idle adjustment screw - because it's not an idle adjustment screw.

Nothing to do with being clean. The throttle stop screw is there to prevent the blades from closing too far which results in them mechanically sticking in the bore. Inspect that screw to see if it looks like it has been moved. Usually you can see where thread locker was applied from the factory.

Where's the screw? I also was going to replace the TPS and IAC. I'm idling at 1500 and then it drops to 1100... which is really high

It is at the top of the throttle body under the plastic cover.

Upper left of the picture. To the left of the spring.

Right where your index is and the orange where the screw is?

Yes, the one with the orange mark. It goes through the housing and is the stop for the linkage.

Well I adjusted it and backed it off a little bit. The issues were on the top of the throttle body you have those springs and crap on the top that actuates the butterfly flaps. Sprayed some WD40 and seems to be good now. It idles at about 800 and throttle response is great now.

There should have been plenty of room using a socket and a short extension if needed. That bolt adjusts the stopping point for " those springs and crap ". Did you have the engine up to operating temperature and unplug the IAC when you adjusted it?
