my 2004 expedition wont go into any gear the shifter will not move I changed the stop light brake switch and a 30 amp buss fuse I found blown and also the check engine light is on now too this was after I parked it I also changed a 30 amp buss fuse I found blown out but it still don't work the only way I can get it into gear is to push the little button under steering wheel , and help welcomed!

 

Can you get it to a local parts store and let them check the codes? Apparently it has one or more, the reason for the check engine light. That might give a big clue to the problem.

 

It sounds like the shift interlock solenoid is buggered up. Basically, it's an electrical means of locking the shifter in park unless you press the brake pedal. Consult the FSM or see if Alloro will post up an exerpt from it to illustrate the circuit
