my new truck is now home

Ordered it 5/3/2016, built on 6/12/2016, delivered to dealer 7/16/2016 , new Reading bed 7/20/2016, in my driveway 7/21/2016. Man, I thought it would never get here. Loaded XLT,6.2 engine, bucket seats,4.30 rear end, 4x4, heavy duty springs, ( man is it tall) and a 5 gallon bucket in the bed so I can stand on it to reach my top opening boxes. I will have my pipe rack on Monday so I will update my pictures. Driving home mixed driving 150 miles on odometer I was up to 11.6 mpg.

A new work truck almost makes me want to go back to work , if you load yours like I loaded mine it won't be so tall but I'm guessing that the top load boxes will still be a little problem.

Nice looking work truck

Heck, at 5'5" I would have problems if it were a low rider. I used dividers and labeled them on the side so I have to do is reach over into the bins. If I park beside the curb I can see in there. I went from a 2006 srw 350 and a transit connect to just this one truck. Man it's nice. I will get pipe rack on and post new pics.

All loaded up and ready for its first install. I did tow my mini excavator today and the 6.2 with 4.3 gears is awesome. BTW running empty on the interstate at 70 mph I am running 2000 rpm's.

Don't make the mistake I did with my last work truck, 2000 F350 V10 with a Stahl service body. The first time I pulled my trencher I didn't have the hitch latched all the way and when I backed the trencher off it disconnect and smashed in my tailgate

That is a good looking work rig you put together. You will love those 4.30's as well.

I used a tank of fuel pulling between 4000 pounds and 5000 pounds and got 10.5 mpg. My old 06 F350 srw, reg cab 2 wd with 4.10 gears got 11 empty and 8 towing the same load. I hope when it gets a few miles on it mpg's will get better

My hwy mpg empty got much, much better. I didn't tow much of anything until it had about 4K.
