So this happened today.I think the tablet was overkill... but I use it as a nav + dash cam.. Gauges are finally operational..
Should my tranny be running about 170-180 in 90° weather? Seems a bit high.. and did anyone with the autometer boost gauge swap out the stock tube for something better? It seems flimsy and easily broken...
Aux 4 for high idle and probably auxiliary 3 for tablet charger (debating this..)
That's pretty cool. How did you mount that to the dash? And what did you do to make it be used as a dash cam?
There's an app on the Android market called AutoBoy, hit record and drive off.
Mounting was pretty easy, I didn't want to put any holes up there so Home Depot sells these little magnetic things called Steelie car mounts. I used that and some adhesive. Had to add an additional magnet to the bottom side of the tablet to keep it stationary however later on I can just peel off instead of trying to cover holes.

Do you carry the tablet with you when you are not in the truck? I'd be worried about some ****** stealing it...also the heat in the summer if leaving it in the truck...

Sadly I usually carry it with... however if I don't wanna look like "that guy" I put it in its carry case and lock it in the tool box... Probably not the BEST idea.. but it's locked right?? LOL

Left is EGT, or a pyrometer, it measures exhaust gas temperature.
They are lighted, however the pyrometer is internally lighted. So I made the other 2 match with the little light bulb covers they come with.
They're all 2" and you can get them to match however I found a deal on each one off Craigslist so I Frankensteined em together.
Mounting bracket is auto meter and you can usually find the product inside a local Pepboys.
Installation isn't TOO difficult, however drilling into the manifold/intake elbow does scare people (I was terrified..). As long as you have patience it's a pretty cake job, just time consuming to do it right the first time. This is what I used as an install guide when I ran into snags.
Mark K has specified a couple of times that the 5R110 internal thermostat keeps the transmission at a minimum working temperature of 175°. If that is what you have then it sounds like it is functioning as designed. I wouldn't think the 4R100 would be much different temperature-wise.

Perfect. I believe it's the 5R110 or 5R100w.. either way, sounds like it's doing just fine. Although I'll be towing about 16k consistently, should I look into an aftermarket cooler in anyone's opinion?
