I've read several threads on iPhone apps to monitor the 7.3l.......When I search for a "OBD2" in the app store I get many hits......I know a lot of you use Dash Command, Torque Pro and ForScan. Are there others that work as well? I would prefer to try a free one before I decide on one of the 3 mentioned.
The ForScan product is specifically for Ford's.....Anyone using it on a 2000 EX 7.3L?
Also, can anyone comment on a cell phone holder that will plug into the cigarette lighter in the dash? One that will stay put and not rotate in the lighter when the iPhone is attached????
For previous ideas and how others have mounted a cell phone holder, use the search term "phone mount" in the search box for the Ex forum and you'll get some ideas while you wait for others chime in on what they have.

Thanks.....Been there.....done that......hence the question.....I don't want a panavise or kuda.......one that has the charger built into it so that it plugs into a cigarette lighter. However, finding one that doesn't rotate like the hands on a clock when the phone is mounted in the cradle is posing a problem.
android apps are much better
I run Torque on a Chinese Huway (or something like that phone) I bought for $30 I does not have service I just connect Blue tooth and monitor some of the PDI uses
I have Dash Command on my Iphone but it uses WIFI so you loose Data when it's on
I save it for quick scanning of codes mostly
NP, it's been awhile since I've opened those threads and I thought people had posted pics of other brands and styles in some of those threads. That's why I suggested looking at 'em.
I bought a amazon fire tablet for $30 on prime day, hacked it with google play and installed torque pro. Heard too many stories about the ELM 270 el cheapo adaptor so spent $79 for the OBDMX bluetooth with auto shutoff and the setup works great. Plenty of PID codes pre installed, obviously the PCM wont support water temp or fan speed for 2000 7.3s but the rest work great IPR ICP etc. Zero issues.
