Followup to overheating issue - temp gauge

Recently I went through some overheating issues, in the end I had to replace the radiator.

Before I replaced it I went on a 180 mile round trip pulling my 6x10 enclosed trailer. No real weight in the trailer(RC airplanes). First trip pulling the trailer after cleaning out the old radiator. I had my ODBII on my laptop the whole way.

By watching the ODBII real time I discovered the temp gauge doesn't move in a range of about 160 to 235 degrees. So much for early warning. At 236-237 it would make some big moves. Easing off the gas the engine would cool to below 235 and the gauge would be in a normal position.

Good info It's been said time and again, the gauges are basically idiot lights.
