95 f250 runs crappy on from tank

Hi all, I've read some posts on this subject but I thought I would ask directly. So my 95 f250 5.8 86kmiles runs great on the back tank plenty of power, but on the front tank it runs, but it doesn't run good. If you're just cruising it'll get you around but if you mash it , it will rev up but not really pull. On the back tank it pulls great. Feels like its starving for fuel, seems obvious that it needs a front tank pump. I'm not having any problems with fuel crossover or anything like that , just a lack of power when it's asked for on the front tank. Thoughts?

Put a fuel pressure gauge on the test port. Look at the pressure readings under the same conditions for each tank. At idle the pressure should be ~30-35 PSI. Under load the pressure should go to 40 PSI and stay there until you let off the throttle/vacuum increases.

Since you do not have the crossflow problem it's probably just a weak pump.

I don't have a fuel pressure gauge, I can probably get one, but I layed under my truck and listen to the pumps turn on as my friend switched the switch. The back pump had a deep tone but the front had a more high pitched whine. Country boy logic says front pump is bad

You can rent a fuel pressure gauge at most auto part stores. It's your wallet and your choice of path to take. Other possibility is a plugged up filter sock on the front tank. You have to drop the tank to service/inspect. Knowing the fuel pressure up front would be beneficial to know IMHO.

Got 32 psi idle and up to 40 on the rev up on the good tank. The front tank only 30psi idle and no change , a drop in pressure if anything at rev up, so fuel pump?

I would say you have a failing front pump.
