2007 F250, XLT, 4X4

I bought a 2007 F250, 6.0 diesel, 4x4.

I have already had to put new injectors in it, among other things. The previous owner had new headgaskets installed at a California Ford Dealer. Unfortunately, the head gaskets blew again this week.

The cost for replacement of headgaskets are more than the truck is worth in my opinion.

Is there any other engine, Diesel or gas that I can install?

I feel like a fool already for buying this piece of junk....

How do you know it is the head gaskets?

2007 6.0

I took the truck to the shop that installed the injectors. The mechanic said it blew a headgasket.

When I drove it to work this morning, it started belching white steam smoke, water was running out the tail pipe, I had to add a gallon of antifreeze. I drive 70 miles one way. After I picked it back up from the shop, I drove it to autozone, added some kind of headgasket stop leak, within 15 minutes it stopped smoking. Of course I haven't driven it further yet. During all of this, so far, it's ran great, in fact better than before. But we simply can't afford to dump money in this thing. ( If it was 2wd, I'd yank that junk out and drop in a v8 with a carburetor, and tranny)

Sounds more like a ruptured egr cooler to me.

Blown head gaskets will push coolant out the degas bottle. A blown egr cooler will make steam and coolant out the exhaust.
