New to the forums. I just purchased a 2014 F-350 SD with the Kings Ranch.
There is a small nook next to the steering column on right side that when pulled out has wires in back of it. I am curious what this is (cell phone fits here) and why the wires are attached to back of plastic nook but do not come thru?
Those wires are for the passenger air bag switch. BC3Z-14B268-A is the part number for the switch for those who might want to install it. The Crew Cab did not come with the switch since you have a back seat for passengers that might be harmed by an air bag deployment. Not sure if the Regular or Super Cab came with thee switch installed or not.
I would assume the molded cubby hole had the attaching point on it so the wires would not get pinched and possibly turn off the air bag when someone had worked on the dash or during vehicle assembly.
