?Pt attached to old IVR?

I installed one of the "solid state" Instrument Voltage Regulators, that I built today in the 69 F250. When I took the old one off, it had an additional part on the IGN terminal. The part number is: C7AA-18A952-A. I was just wondering what it did.

I built two different styles of the "Solid State" I.V.R.

Style 1 IVR The Black wire is the 12v input, Green is ground, and the white is the 6V output.

I used a larger capacitor (than required) on the input side. This will protect against voltage surges from the alternator.

Next time I'll use a longer ground wire and less on the input and output wires.

Style 2 IVR This was a PIA. All that stuff had to fit inside, Plus I installed a LED so when it's putting out 6V the green LED is on. Pen points to LED. 4hrs to build!!!!

I have enough parts left to build 7 or 8 Style 1 IVR's. If anyone wants one send me an email:garykipfer@aol.com, with the address you want it sent to. The cost of shipping is all I need in return.

Thanks Bill. I'll see if it makes a difference in the radio with that part off.

Great news, fuel gauge for the main (in cab) works now. So I guess the IVR was bad. I had to clean corrosion from all of the bullet connects and the female spade connectors on the plug to the tank switch. 320 grit sandpaper wrapped on a brazing rod (or drill bit) worked good. Now to do the Aux tank. It has about 30 Gal of lacquer in it now.
