Sadly, no. I still have an "auto lamp data error" and an "auto lock data error". I have a used VSM I think I'll swap in to see if it's the problem.

Ughh! I tore my dashboard apart and plugged in my spare VSM, but I STILL have the faults! Looks like I'm going to pull the whole dash out and re-inspect the harness.

I also had one more thought. I'm going to remove all of the grounds and carefully clean underneath, then reinstall. The new paint may be causing bad connections.

I've been following your progress... nice to see it running and driving!

As to your electrical gremlins, I'd definitely check your grounds before pulling the dash, but pulling the dash isn't as hard as it may seem, as thoes of us who have done it know!

Good luck, I hope you figure it out soon!

Bio - you think it may be the clockspring that you mentioned before? I know in the 2003 Thunderbird world that thing causes all kings of weirdness. I don't know how expensive they are or how much of a PIA they are to change on a 250 - umm wait, I'm talking to Bio, he eats PIAs for lunch - lol

That is a good point! I know my clock spring is bad, but I didn't think that it could be causing all of the other problems. I'm going to change it before I tear more of the dash apart.

Thanks for the suggestion!

A little understated for all the work you have gone to.

OK, I'm just jealous over all the work you have gone to.

They'll do, I guess.
