No update on the transmission yet, and I'm trying my hardest to not pester Dustin. It's taking all of my willpower! I'm dying to get this thing back.

This project has been a long time in the coming. It finally looks like the vision I had in my head 3 or 4 years ago. I can't describe the satisfaction of working so long and hard toward a goal and now seeing it manifest in reality!

Dustin says he thinks he fixed my transmission! He replaced a stuck solenoid. He'll know after it warms up (meaning he'll have to drive it around!) LOL! I hope he has a good time driving it around!

Updates to come after his joyride!!

In order to stave off cabin fever while the Super Duper has been off at the shop, I have been pounding nails in sticks!

My oldest daughter is indescribably giddy about her room finally being finished. She lost patience with me about a year ago and moved all of her stuff in, in spite of her "room" consisting of wall skeletons.

That is sure a lot of sticks. May they quiver in fear of your mighty hammer! Hope the tranny is okay. So close to getting it done (in the grand scheme of things). Hopefully this is just a hiccup!

Good news! Dustin says they found a sticky solenoid and a questionable internal wire harness. They are installing a new harness, new solenoid, and doing a fluid flush. Hopefully I'll have the truck back this weekend!! WOOOOT!

SOunds like things are swinging your way with the tranny. That has to be a breathe of fresh air. Look forward to seeing it run down the road again soon.

Probably not for a while! I've spent too much time and money on this to thrash on it (just yet!)

I got some good news and some bad news from Dustin:
The transmission is fixed! That's the good news.
The bad news? The fan shroud broke, snagged the fan, and poked a hole in the coming system somewhere. (Not sure if the radiator or lower hose.)

One step forward, two steps back!

Well, its good to hear about the transmission! Any idea why the fan shroud committed suicide?

Mostly because I cheaped out and ran it even though I noticed it was brittle when I reinstalled it. I was just too eager to get it running, and I didn't want to wait to source a new one.

I really should learn from my mistakes! Every time I try to cut a corner because I'm lazy or cheap, it ends up costing me more money and time than if I would have addressed the problem when it first cropped up.

DONT BE LIKE ME! DON'T BE LAZY AND CHEAP!!! It's much too expensive and takes too much time.

Someone once told me..."We are not rich enough to be cheap"!
