I've got them unbolted and hanging down but haven't figured out how to get the arm loose. Isn't there a clip of some type on the door jamb end of the arm?

Maybe some sort of sound deadening sheet or insulation. My doors had something similar shaped stuck to the outside shell of the door. It was almost like a watershed or something to protect the outside of the door skin
It's what amounts to a thin piece of tar paper - yes, to shed water off of the removable door panel. My white truck still has both of them, but they are a bit fragile these days.
Thanks guys.
My truck's doors and my spare doors don't have them. I guess time won the battle.
If they don't disintegrate then it is probably one of those things that was tossed the first time the door panel was removed and reinstalled. If you change out from the sheet metal door panel to the door storage compartment you are supposed to retain the tar paper, but the fit of the storage compartment pushes the tar paper up in such a way that it can pull away from the door where it is adhered in place and once it pulls loose then it can drop to the bottom of the door and sit in a dirty water pool and block the drains in the bottom of the door. That can lead to rusting out from the inside. One of those things you had to keep an eye on or they could cause more trouble than they were designed to solve.
Here's a picture of the one on the drivers side door of the white truck. It makes it a serious pain to get to the lock mechanism or any other door servicing that needs done.
Here's a picture of the two tar paper water shields from my red truck. It did have the door storage compartments installed in it from new which causes more wear to the tar paper, I believe, than just the sheet metal panel. Not to mention that the red truck has more miles on it than my white truck.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.
A scan of the invoice for the red truck hopefully comes up at this link. Then you can hopefully click the picture of the invoice to make it bigger.
