30k mile oil cooler

Looks like my 2013 might get a new oil cooler next week. Thoughts on prevention/causes? Photos show leak around rear hose; not sure if rear main is involved but will have them check. Thank goodness still under original warranty (and I did pick up the extended warranty from Flood Ford thanks to comments on this site)!

Dropped the truck off yesterday and left keys in the dropbox; waiting to hear this morning from the diesel tech for his assessment (got to know him last year when he replaced my entire exhaust "torpedo" after repeated DEF faults).

You know, looking at the pictures again it would appear to me that piece of the housing is missing? Right by the hose.

In the end I wonder if it is that or something else causing all the mess.

Good luck! I hope they get it done quick.

How do you like the new service bay? I like it better than the one they had behind the main building.

Got the call from the tech this afternoon--even after adding dye to the oil he couldn't detect a leak. He suggested it was a very slow or old leak that got a lot of crap to stick together on what oil there was. Makes a little sense--it's parked in a garage and I have no oil spots whatsoever on the floor. Only thing I can think of is possible overfill from a previous oil change (don't go to that place again and now I change it myself) caused the excess oil & pressure to weep out?

Simple then - clean it off, which they hopefully did and see if it comes back.

I don't like anyone touching my truck either and the nice thing is my new place the truck fits in the heated garage, so even if it needs an oil change in the dead of winter I can do it myself. (unlike where I am currently, which the truck doesn't fit in the garage).

Better than finding out you have a bad leak!
