service engine soon light went off?
I had recently thrown a code for a 'misfire detection monitor disabled' , never did address the issue. But just the other day the service engine light went off, the light had been on all this time and now it's off. My question is, how do I know if the light is just burned out. Is there something safe I could do to make the light come back on just to see if the light is actually still works.

When you turn the key on your truck does a lamp check. All come on. It's actually something we have to check for in states that have emission inspections. Turn it to run and it should illuminate. The computer will turn the lamp off if the problem doesn't reoccur within so many drive cycles. Hopefully it's just that.

Well thanks for all the insight guys, I will check remedies after work, however, due to the previous code which was p1309, I wouldn't be surprised if I am having pcm issues just because of what I researched in order to remedy the code. There were several possibilities. Thanks again

The CEL lamp has either been disabled by the last owner or is burned out from being on so long.
It is lighted independently of any fault code during the checkout time same as the rest of the dash lamps.
.
The 1309 is a PCM fault with a chip that generates high speed crank profile data and passes the processed results to the PCM main processing.
You have 2 issues.
Good luck.
