Glad to see this thread. I blew mine off last summer doing 80mph. When I replaced it, it because obvious to me that if you do not have it lined up with the least amount of torque on it (spinning it just a little could add pressure) plus the movement of the motor, heat, etc, it's entirely possible to set it up to break again.

Got mine delivered and installed today. Better hose. Better clamps. Better by FAR coupler/adapter.

That looks much simpler than the install of mine. NOT taking away anything you did, but just two clamps and a much thicker intake tube versus two tubes and a mandrel bent steel tube. Congrats buddy! No worries now. By chance did you put this in the '17 section?? If not, it needs to be!

Lot's of new 6.7 owners there who haven't migrated here yet. Many are still more concerned with bling over function.

Very true. I know a lot of guys who said they would not own the same truck as they did in '99-'00 with just enhancements. Too bad I always tell them, as you miss out on some great trucks!

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if H&S is planning a redesign of the 11-16 version? I'd like to jump on this mod too. I've emailed them asking if they had any plans to.

All three makers that I am aware of making the 11-16 retrofit all have the three piece design - Mishimoto, AFE, and H&S.

Monty, After reading your account of how difficult it was to get all the pieces lined up just right, keeps me from taking the dive...

Dave, drop H&S a line and ask them if the 17 kit will fit an 11-16.

Good idea Rodney. I've asked them if they plan on updating the 11-16 kit to that of the 17. Maybe they will suggest that is an option. I just remember Monty's install being a pain trying to get all the joints properly positioned, and tightening up all the clamps.

If you had to, you could dry assemble it outside the truck for much easier access to the clamps. The Ford one comes assembled and can be installed complete so I don't see why the H&S couldn't be? Just match up the angles with the OE tube while still on your workbench. Worst case scenario would be you had to pull it out and rotate something but that's a lot easier than trying to tighten all the clamps while it's in the vehicle.

I heard from Dallas at H&S. The 2017 kit will not retrofit the 2011-16, however he did say that they have had a lot of inquiries, and that they "would most likely be doing a 1 piece version shortly". He went on to say that the 1 piece version is 100+ PSI burst rating.

So, I'll probably do this mod, but will wait a bit to see if they come out with the updated version.
