No problem and good luck getting it resolved. My seat bases are older but I doubt Ricon would change motors. Did you try tapping on the motor? My motor recently stopped working so I gave it a few taps and it started working again. I bought a few spares cheap off eBay.

It still works. The dealer of coarse said it was moving slow and was going out. All three functions are shorting out, and my seat is wobbly. I some times have to wiggle the switches to get them to move. There is a short or bad ground I would think. He said I need a swivel plate also. A friend of mine said I need the bronze bearings to fix the wobbly. When it swivels back to the driving position it does not turn of on its own like it supposed to do.

Sounds like you have a low voltage or ground problem. The switches rarely go bad and either work or don't. The motors last a long time, unless you're really heavy.

Check to insure it's grounded good, the lift arms on mine, somehow the wiring to the seat swivel was cut by the mechanism, rendering my chair immobile. I plan to be picking up another power seat base in the morning, with luck it'll work without work, not expecting it to for what I'm paying for it. BTW cheap window motors have plastic gears, I've had them apart, wont last as long.

That's about what I weigh. My one van is a 93, and so is the seat base. I have replaced the forward/rear motor one time. All the motors should be fed by one wire, check that and the ground.

True, some of the window motors have plastic gears, the ones that I linked have steel gears though. Regardless, it's pretty remarkable how long these motors last given operating a window verses sliding a person back and forth.

Yeah, I've had mine for 16 years, was used when I got it, the power sliding door setup looks really old, gonna guess inside a door operating windows corrosion sets in due to moisture. The stop on my top turntable bent, it now runs off of the gear when turned and spins, I need to find a way to fix that, anyone else have that issue?

@Maples:. Is your base a Ricon? My old 93 does the same thing, so far really hasn't been an issue. I try to release the switch before it comes past the gear.

Yes it's a ricon, I just don't want to strip the teeth off of it.

Turns out my I need a new swivel plate. 4 of the teeth are broken off it. Ricon lists it for $135. Anyone know what this part is from. I'm sure Ricon doesn't make it.

I really have no experience with these seats but it makes sense if its part of something Ricon sells most likely it won't be available anywhere else. If its from an outside vendor they'd not offer it separately and risk losing Ricon's business.

As much as any of us hate over spending for parts sometimes there's no choice.

Only other option would be to have one fabricated, which would probably negate any savings.
