I've got a 1996 F-250 crew cab, 4x4, 460, E4OD. Recently I made the mistake of degreasing and hosing off the engine bay and underside of the truck...
Since then I've had hard/delayed shifts, intemittant overdrive, it seems like my trans is searching for gears, occasionally it doesn't kick down. And while crusing at say around 40-50 mph it revs up and keeps a rpm of around 3k.
No check engine light so far. My overdrive light is burned out so that's no help...
So far i've reset the computer, replaced the TPS and the MLPS. No noticeable improvement.
Any help is appreciated and if more information is needed let me know...
inspect the ecm connector, follow it down to a large clip down below the brake booster.some lines come from the power dist box and some the ecm connector then as stated also check the bulkhead connector.
you can check for codes but they're just going to be ones that let you know you've got connection problems between the ecm and solenoids anyway,as the problem just happened when you sprayed everything with a hose.
