1993 F350 with 7.3 questions

First off Ill give a little back ground. I recently bought a 1993 F350 CC from my brother. It started out life as a 460 truck and someone before us did a conversion. It runs pretty good and the conversion seems to not have many issues. The 7.3 came out of a 1995.

So yesterday I decided to install a few things I had ordered from Riffraff. Figured I'd do the easy one and put the intake on. While into that I figured I'd just bite the bullet and do the Up Pipes, Down Pipes and Exhaust and be done with it. I learned quick the turbos dont come out too easy. Everything came to a halt when trying to get the Drivers side Up Pipe out. No amount of twisting, turning, begging, pleading or swearing could get it out. The cab is just too close to the pipe for it to come out. So I took a break and walked away to decide what I want to do. I figure I have 3 options.
1. Leave it. It already has bellowed ends where it meets the Exhaust manifold. Not nearly as nice as the RiffRaff ones though. Also the Passenger side Up pipe has nicks in the bellowed end. Causing a leak.
2. Use air chisel and pry bars to widen the hole to get it out. I'd have to damage the cab around that area.
3. Pull the engine. I have to replace the oil pan gasket relatively soon anyway and figured I could knock a few things out.

I have decided to pull it out tomorrow. So here are my questions.
1. Are there any things in particular I need to be aware of pulling a 7.3? I have pulled several Gas engines over the years but never a diesel. I do have a 3 ton engine lift and will be buying a 1000lbs engine stand tomorrow morning.
2. Once it is out are there any things I should check, replace, or easily modify while it's out. I need to limit my mods to what I can afford atm. But while it's out I am definitely game to knock some things out.
3. When replacing the oil pan gasket is there a reason they fail that I can change or fix to avoid this happening again?
4. Is there a difference in the cabs that changed after 1993 for the turbos?

I plan to watch some videos. Do some reading while relaxing today and tear into it all in the morning. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Happy Fathers Day also.

You need at least a 1250lbs engine stand these are heavy beasts. Look at the mod folder lots of goodies specially the freakify mod you don't want to have trouble removing that turbo in the future check it out.
Re seal the hole engine, the sealent must be the motorcraft one or the IH one other seals will fail. I believe the cabs are the same.

You should reseal the dipstick adapter while that pan is out, too.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to try and do the oil cooler o-rings and gaskets as well besides the dipstick adapter with the engine out. You can do that with the engine in, but I've heard it's a big pain.

Like z31feakify said, make sure to get the special motorcraft silicon sealant. You can get it from any ford dealer. It's like 20 dollars or less for a huge caulking tube that will do more than you need. Also, I would agree it would be a good time to reseal the whole engine with it out. With the oil pan off, you can do the timing cover, water pump much easier, as well as things like resealing the fuel bowl and oil o-rings.

If you do take the timing cover off, be absolutely sure you get the proper gaskets for the HPOP reservoir. The wrong gasket can put pressure in the wrong place and crack the timing cover. I read about it a whole lot when I was doing mine.
