I would think if you could pull a code and or run a buzz test to confirm than It shouldnt be that detrimental.. Hopefully it hasnt been like that for very long. Ask the owner how he knows its a sticky injector.
Found another..

Oh yeah, that one.. Well besides the injector make sure you verify tranny health and check that drivers door tag to see if it has 3.55s or 4.10s..

Thanks. That one looks good and I'm gonna take a look.

I just drove the other one. Pretty good. Current owner has only had it 6 mos so wasn't able to tell me much about trans history. It has 3.73 gears (2005 super duty axles) and drove nicely. Tranny shifted smooth but when you put it in reverse (like to back into a parking space) it stalls. Shift to neutral and re start, put into R and it goes fine. Any idea what would cause that?

Hhmm, so why is he selling is so soon?
I'm really not up to speed on that tranny symptom and issue; maybe Mark will chime in. He's the resident tranny guy.

some searches seem to suggest a converter lock up issue. But all of those threads seem to be when going into drive or reverse and sometimes even when slowing down. This literally only does it when going drive to R. A quick blip of the gas and no problem.

He's selling due to a death in the family has him inheriting another truck. I do believe he intended to keep the truck if it wasn't for this based on a few uninstalled parts and recent repairs.

See, I dislike short beds and think their useless + I wouldnt be as proud of owning one of them as I am with my OBS.. Being satisfied with that F250 is entirely your perogitive and I respect that but the OP is after a OBS.
Also, my truck cost my 18k, 3 years ago w 69k on the ODO, maybe I could have found a loaded super duty stick crew cab with those miles for that price but the advancements made from 97 to 99 are not enough for me to go that route. + In Maine super duties turn to swiss cheese...
I know what you mean Corey. I love OBS trucks! Since I have my 97 as my baby, this truck is strictly for utility/convenience. So I ended up buying it.
I park my 97 for the winter so it doesn't rust out. This 99 is far from perfect but for a winter-driver, the price was right for the job.

To the OP, like Corey said, if you are after an OBS then go for it. They are better than super dooties in my opinion. My mindset is just different I guess since I've got my baby (97), and was just looking basically for a work truck that can carry the whole family. There are a lot of nice lifted OBS CCLB out there for a decent price. The trouble I was having was finding one with not too many miles (personal preference, these trucks last a long time) and no lift. Plus I'm just cheap lol. Happy hunting, I can't wait to see what you bag!

I am also in south florida and have been browsing diesel trucks for sale as I have just posted my 2005 Dodge Dakota for sale. Would be nice if you could follow up what truck/specs/price you end up getting so at least I can judge the local market. I am kinda steering towards a CCLB. Using for personal use and small time 1 person lawn service $15k max.

Depending on the number of miles you want that should be doable.

The market for these trucks is strange right now. I've looked at 2 under $10k that were both pretty rough and clean ones are listed for as high as $25k. The thing is, I am not seeing any sell for that much. It seems people are listing these trucks at a premium because they see others list them for that price but no one seems to be selling for that much. I'm going to be patient and revisit some of these over priced trucks in a few weeks once people realize a 250k mile truck shouldn't bring $20000

Absolutely watch the overpriced ones. If the seller is motivated to sell they will drop the price eventually. You have tons of craigslist dreamers asking what THEY think its worth, not its actual value nor what it will sell for. This is more of an entertaining idea for them to sell their OBS and see what kind of offers they get. Motivated sellers is key.

The truck I bought was listed for about 3-4 months and I watched it go down in price 2 times before I decided to scope it and make an offer on it.

I've seen a couple on Ebay get bid up past 20,000 and the reserve not be met!
