Re-thread the fuel pump/motor block bolt hole

I was doing a routine fuel pump change and I noticed that one of the two bolts holding it up was loose. I took it off and put the new one on and stated fine but then I seen the pump shaking and found my bolt missing. Now I wondering if my bolt hole is stripped. Wondering how hard it is to re-thread it. Any help would be great.

You could still it out and insert a helicoil.

Without the pump installed I would chase (clean) the threads (if there are any) with the proper size tap. Then see is a new bolt will draw down following the torque specks. Use some washers to make up for the pump not being installed.

If the threads are toast, you can step up drill, tap in new threads and then step up in a bolt size. I would use just do the helicoil insert, it is simple and easy to do.
