Well the monstrous size boxes have arrived today. I think I might get at it this weekend. Only supposed to be 117 degrees lol. Any tips on shortening the bed sides to a shortbed length??

Here's a link to a thread where that's being done.

So he kept the original part that was attached behind the cab? If so that's a slick fix. I am having a hard time figuring out how to remove my bed alone ha.

Spot weld issue.

How many spot welds are on the inside lip of the bedsides? The ones I can see are incredibly faint.

The only available full bedsides are the 77-up with the square filler.
The truck I'm building the bed for is a '73 so it has the exposed round filler. I bought the repair panel with the round filler so I can cut out the filler section and splice it into the full quarter panel, that way I'll have the correct panel for my application.

I'm not sure of the exact count but there are a lot of them. What I did when I cut off my sides was I took some 180 grit sandpaper and went down the lip. This will help highlight the weaker spot welds.

Just an update here. This is where I'm at today. I feel it's pretty decent for not having any experience.

Well I finally finished. Please excuse my yard. It's not mine and I'm not claiming responsibility for it.

I found some random parts during my clean up. I found these to round disc like parts. I have no idea where they came from. They are about 3 inches in diameter and have a pressed bubble type groove to them. Can't get pics right now but I'll post when I can. Anyone have any ideas?

Could be this: D3TZ-9080-A .. Cover-Fuel Tank Filler Opening / Obsolete

1973/76 F100/350 Stylesides.

1973/76 left quarter panels both factory installed and sold at the parts counter came with holes punched out for the mid-ship & aft axle fuel filler tubes/caps.

But, if the truck didn't come with a mid-ship and/or aft axle tank, these covers filled the holes in the quarter panel.
