Detailed

A good friend and I detailed our trucks today. Mine is getting window tint done next weekend, same as my last truck. 2 ply ceramic on every window. 35% over the back windows, 20% on the front 2 windows and 35% on the windshield. A lot of acreage to wax by hand.....

Did this today https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...rake-feel.html new rotors motorcraft severe duty pads and fluid and bled the system the pedal was soft and had a lot of travel not anymore what a difference. If you have a gas truck this mod is worth the 10 mins it takes but this is not a replacement for properly maintaining the brakes. But if everything is up to par and your not happy with the pedal feel give this a try just go about 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn at the time and test it.

New blackout headlights, 5" nerf bars, and chrome mirror toppers...

Just purchased my 2012 two weeks ago, so far I've put some new blacked out headlight housings with 6000k LED headlights, new chrome mirror toppers, new 5" black nerf bars, new Fuel wheels and tires, new LED brake light, and a few other tweaks.

Tried removing a broken spark plug. Gave up and drank beer instead.

Been busy using my truck as a truck... Drove from Alaska to Florida, picked up a cargo trailer on the way, loaded my stuff up and drove back. Then when I got back up to Alaska, we moved houses...

My boss flew to Alaska a few weeks ago to help move his sister to Utah. One destroyed U Haul truck later he had some great stories. After hearing his tales I cannot even imagine driving from Alaska to Florida and then turning around and going back again.

Yep - That road does that to vehicles... I've driven it 7 times now (2 round trips and 3 one way trips). I need a new windshield in my SD and my front bumper is pretty rock chipped up from the last trip, I almost got away with not needing a new windshield too.

He said one broken windshield, one transmission that lost overdrive and a blown head gasket plus 3,000 miles later they made it. Best of luck in your travels.

changed the oil, rotated the tires and painted the tailgate military flat tan to see if I like it enough for the whole truck.

Are you going all the way with flat tan?

Ohh and I am probably not going to have an 8th trip down the AlCan and into the L48 anytime soon. I got all my vehicles and stuff up here now, so I can now just fly.

I think the flat tan looks pretty cool its definitely something different. Paint on the truck looks like it's in good shape though. Do you have tan interior I think the tan would look kinda weird with gray? What paint did you use?

some jerk walked around my truck spraying safety yellow spray paint. removing it screwed up the clear coat in a couple spots.

the interior is tan but the 2014 seats are a different shade of tan. I'm thinking about getting some marathon seat covers in kryptek camo to mix things up a little and protect the leather during hunting season.

the military tan is similar to the new Toyota tan color, just flat. the paint is by gillespie coatings.

it's similar to the old CARC paint the military used but you had to wear a hazmat suit when applying it because of the gnarly chemicals in it. my Seabee buddies say they use to wipe the carc painted equipment down with diesel fuel after working on them. made them look new

I think i'll give the brake booster mod a try. I have the ssbc 8 piston calipers in the front but a firmer pedal with earlier application would be nice

I think you'll be happy with the brake booster mod especially with those 8 piston calipers just make 1/2 to 3/4 turn adjustments at a time I used a 7mm socket on a 1/4" ratchet when I made my second adjustment it was much better than the little 7mm wrench. I never been real impressed with the pedal in any gas Sd or excursion I've driven and a few of them were new. The kryptec seat covers would look cool with the tan paint I have one of those stainless steel tumblers that I dipped in the kryptec highlander and it's a pretty cool pattern. Sucks about some one hitting your truck with spray paint I'm sure if you would have caught them they would still be trying to pass the can after you fed it to them haha.

When you take the booster off I'm guessing the brake fluid is contained and doesn't leak out when you pull it apart?
