Finally got the wife's Flex she wanted
Just purchased (actually getting it tomorrow) 2011 Flex Titanium with everything she wanted except remote start. Any suggestions, pitfalls, problems doing that? Now I get to play with SYNC and a bunch of other new geegaws (some of which she will have problems dealing with) So I will finally have an all Ford stable for now (until my T2 K-car gets back together) and one built in this century.

When I purchased this vehicle, the dealer only had one of the IKT keys, no valet key either. I went to the local dealer (Kool Ford in Keller VA) to see about getting at least one more key. According to Ford, the HA code key I have is replaced with the SA code key. The SA head is a different shape than the HA and the SA is an 80 bit encryption where the HA is 40 bit.
Long story short, they were unable to get an SA IKT to code to the vehicle even using the NGS tool (needed if you do not have 2 keys). they managed to get a Valet key cut and programmed so I had two keys at least. My wife found some HA key blanks on eBay, so I took a chance for $24.98 and ordered one. With it cut to my locks by the dealer, the service manager and I went out during the service dept. lunch break, and the newly cut HA key was quickly set up using the original and the valet key. He had the two cut SA keys at $125 each and we tried repeating the procedure with them, no go, security light would rapidly flash as soon as one was put in the ignition lock and turned on.
