Clutch fork part number...

I have the engine out of my 69 F100 4WD - getting ready to put a 445 stroker into it. I am putting in a new clutch and I replaced the throw out bearing and noticed the clutch fork is pretty worn at the tips of the forks and the indentation where the release rod presses into it - not surprising on a 45 year old part. The dust boot is also pretty stiff.

I think I'd like to replace the fork, anti rattle spring, and dust boot but I'm not certain what part numbers will work for a 4WD.

I pick up one from a loco auto parts store. It was a Dorman replacement,
And got a aftermarket dust boot.

Ps note one from a 302 is to small.

Just did a search on Dorman's site and it didn't yield a part number. Any chance you have a record of it?

Bill - just called Carpenter. They don't have the C3AZ-7515-C, nor do Melvin Classic Ford Parts or Green (according to their web site). The spring is available, as is the dust boot. Just no forks.

Try this & see if anything matches.

I just did the DC dust boot and it ripped apart trying to get it on, & I was being careful..

Dan,

I looked at the linked page, and I've searched NPD, no joy...

I don't know what the deal is, but there are none.

When you type the part number into websites, omit any spaces or hyphens, like this for example: C3AZ7515C

I wasn't able to find any at Ford dealers/obsolete parts vendors, but you might try Bronco Graveyard, because it was also used on 1966/68 Bronco 289; 1969 Bronco 302 (before serial number G30,001).

Bill, thanks for the suggestion. I looked through their inventory and they don't have any. Tried to call but their number is busy.

I know customizations are not your thing, but are any of the forks with the spring on the back the same shape and dimensions as the C3AZ-7515-C? I ask because I note that the pivot points are very similar in size - not having had both in my hands to compare I was wondering if it was a case that Ford replaced the anti-rattle spring with a spring clip on the back of the fork?

You could try this puppy, I don't have anything to compare it with, so it might work, might not. At one time NAPA had it, it's also available NOS

The anti-rattle spring was not used after 1972.

May be it's time to change over to the later style. At lest those parts are still available.
Maybe try C/List and ebay the junk yards.

2X. I think the D0TZ7515A will work, eventually. It's retained to the retainer trunnion bracket differently than the C3AZ. There is no separate C6AZ7562A used. On the back of the D0TZ fork there is a spring steel tongue riveted to the fork. This goes through a rectangular hole in the C8AZ7522B (replaced C8AZ7522A) trunnion bracket. It has been decades since I had the two side by side but if memory serves, the D0TZ is just a tad longer. Where you'll get a little more leverage. Prolly what Ford was after.
These two places show the C8AZ7522A:
