I recently bought a low miled remanufactured '76 460 that came out of an ambulance. I pulled the heads off to be redone and I noticed the Pistons all had .030 stamped on them and ended up finding out that it was truly bored .030. I just wanna know if Ford themselves bored out that motor during the reman process or what? Maybe it's cause it was meant for hospital/ law enforcement vehicles only or what? I'm curious and must know

 

Ford doesn't reman, that's farmed out & that's when it got bored

 

You mentioned the engine was rebuilt and wonder when it was bored out??
