95 f350, 7.3.. Missfires and dies

Hey guys.. I have a 95 f350xlt.. Here recently i have had a problem with it dying on the highway.. At higher fuel pressure it seems like.. Then it takes quite a few cranks and about 15-20 mins before it will start again.. On a cold start it starts and idles fine, and drives fine if i just need to go down the street to the store.. But if i get on a open county road or highway.. It starts to make a ticking noise, right before it missfires.. Then it will stall out and die.. Like its starving for fuel.. If i stop as soon as i hear the ticking and missfire, it will smoothen back out.. It has new injectors, new mechanical fuel pump, new vacuum pump, new glow plugs, new fuel filter, and now new ipc and new crankshaft sensor.. The only other code that came up when i scaned it was the speed sensor.. Which i figured just controlled the speedometer.. So i didnt replace it.. It idles smoother and runs better in town.. But still dies when i give it more gas and at higher speeds.. Ive already spent alot of money trying to chase down this problem.. Does anyone know what else it could be?

i would get a fuel pressure gauge installed with a hose so you can read it while driving

if it drops below 40 psi, you have an issue

low fuel pressure can make injector knock/tick

As of right now.. The truck is only hooked up to run off the front tank.. The rear tank is plugged off and the fuel selector valve is missing and bi-passed.. Im guessing the guy i got the truck from couldnt afford a new fuel selector valve when it ran out so they rigged it up to only run off the front tank.. Thats my guess

If it starts good cold and not hot, with all the new parts I would look at the IPR. If the o rings are worn it will leak by as the oil warms up

Its starts up warm just fine as long as i dont drive it to the point where it acts up.. Only when i drive it until it stalls is when it has trouble starting.. And my mechanic buddy did the IPC and the crank sensor because they were the only things that showed up bad on the diognostics.. But he said he checked the IPR anyways and that it was in good shape... I have a guy at work telling me that its probably a fuel line collapsing problem.. Would that cause these symptoms? Im new to diesels but i do know that something is preventing it from getting fuel.. Or it is sucking air into the fuel from somewhere

This sure sound like a fuel delivery issue to me. As stated above Injectors will start to "knock" with low fuel pressure. Just because parts are new doesn't mean they are good, especially with MIC parts a lot of places are selling. Get a reading on fuel pressure.

Ok i will try to get a fuel pressure reading on it by this weekend.. I orderd a new fuel tank and pick up foot and they should be here sometime this week.. Once i get it back together with some fuel.. I will try to get a fuel pressure reading.. Should i run a guage out from the hood where i can read it while driving? If so do you know what pressures im supposed to have.. Cranking, idle, and while on the highway?
