66 Superduty V-10 swap
I'd like to start by saying I'm not looking for negativity or opinions. I have a 2 valve V-10 crate motor that I will be putting into my 66 T-850. I was just wondering if anyone had any helpful info about bell housing or motor mount complications. I'm sure there will be some since I want to use the original 5+3 Trans with the new V-10. I have some belief that the bellhousing from a newer F-650 with a V-10 would mate both directions but can't find any evidence to support that theory. Again anything helpful would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like a great option for your old truck.
As far as transmissions all I have to say is probably not. They switched a lot of what is common sizes till the 70's when they hit a more modern standard.
Your best bet in my mind would be to get a Fe to Mod adaptor.
I have been doing a bit of research on a 55 F500 I want to buy, but have no excuse to do so. Alot of things on my truck if I go that way were till the mid late 60's depending on types.

That sounds awesome. I'm working on getting the parts together for a different approach swap on my truck too.
I hate when people get criticized for what they're doing on their truck...it is THEIR truck. I'm subscribing on this one, I really want to see where this goes.
Did the truck start out with an FT motor?
What manual trans did the F650's mod motor era trucks have available? If it was a heavier trans like a Meritor or something I imagine there is an SAE trans to bellhousing standard like the bellhousing to engine on the diesels. I could be way off though...

That's exactly my hope. The newer 650 has Allison, eaton, and spicer options. I'm also thinking maybe a school bus since they put 7.3 power strokes in them. The adapter may be different but should do the job.
This truck still has the original 477 in it. And it is actually still used on a farm.
My main goal is a little better fuel mileage.

Have you found out anything new?
The Allison could be an option. I had a 97 perestroika that I looked into swapping an Allison into and it looked like I needed a bellhousing from a Navistar T444 that had been attached to an Allison.
I imagine super duty 477 are getting tougher to come by too.
I know you're after a V10, but the parts might be easier to come by with a 385 series engine and retain your trans.
