Does anyone know how many crew cabs were made during this series? Ballpark guess? I know they're elusive since only a handfull were made, but I wasn't sure of a number. I'm trying to convince my dad that he should let me save the nieghbors 70 crew cab which is bound for an uncertain (but most likely a far flatter) fate. He says he doesn't any more dead vehicles in the yard I say its not my fault that he bought a Chevy or that he insists on keeping the Saturn around. ( @#%$ thing is a bic lighter on wheels! Shoulda been tossed out the moment it started to give us grief ) but anyway! Crew cabs! Any info (or ideas) would be great!

Old blue, Is that Silverdale Wa.? If you don't get the crew there are plenty of us here that would like a shot at it although I don't know if I could haul it on my 16 ft. trailer.
16 ft is ok willowbilly3 my crews wheels are 12.5 ft so that leaves 1 3/4 feet on both ends. Come on you can make her fit if Oldblue isn't able to save her!
On June 9th I got home from a trip that started in April. I left east Texas with a basket case Model a sport coupe and went to Reno and traded it for a T-bucket, then on up to Washington and helped my buddy on Whidbey Island for a week or so. I left the trailer there and drove to my place in Willow Alaska and spent about 3 weeks cleaning that place out of 15 years of Ford stuff, loaded what I could on the pickup and a 12 foot trailer, headed back to Whidbey and put all the junk around the T-bucket. I spent a few days there and then headed back to Texas. That was over 11,000 miles and many 800-900 mile days, one was almost 1,000.
And do you know what? I would leave tomorrow if I could for Washington for a crew cab and to escape this weather, but an impending "big D" has me kind of stuck here for another month or so. Now if it was a super clean Merc crew cab I say srew it all and be on my way to Moose Jaw tomorrow

And willowbilly: Yep, Silverdale WA. I was actually planning on letting y'all know if I wasn't able to save her (still not certain). I just can't stand the thought of a crew getting crushed. A friend of mine has got his eyes on her too, but he's got a Camero he hasn't got time or money for and this baby will take plenty of both.
I have to tell you though, she is in pretty bad shape (one of the reasons dad doesn't want me to bother). She was my neighbors resto project. He had the engine running well and the bodywork just finnished (all by him) and had just had her painted to this fabulous pewter-y metallic grey. Whenever he had her out I would have to just stop and stare. Unfortunately his shop caught fire (burnt to the ground) because of a welding accident, and the truck was parked in front. The backend is super stait and untouched. The frontend, however needs a lot of help. Engines gone, windows too, the interiors burnt out, some sections of the cab itself will need either replacing or repair due to heat damage, not to mention the various other important things that werelocated in the front end It's an ambitios project, yes, but I think she could be saved, and is definately worth saving.
I think my trouble is that I SAW HER restored to her full glory and lusted, and still see that truck when I look at her. I dunno, I'll keep you updated and I'll see how things go.
While in the Air Force we were carted around the flightline in a Crewcab but because of other reasons we called it a 6-Pack. It hauled 6 plus the driver out along perimiter road until the beer was gone.
