2000 F250 4x4 - Drive Line Noises
After 240,000 miles my drive gear is starting to make noises associated with what I can best describe as excessive slack. I cannot detect any looseness trying to wiggle stuff by hand. The factory traction lock works great. My BTS tranny brings out the worst in any slack that i have when I run anything other than stock with the DP Tuner chip. I have to run in stock mode because my DP Tuner chip adds line pressure that the tranny does not need. Its slow in stock but shifts absolutely fantastic without the chip boosting pressure.
Has anyone dropped their driveline and greased all the slip splines, u-joints? Did it help? Is their any adjustments that can be made in the rear differential to tighten up backlash?

Drop and grease anything you can. Can't hurt, inspect it all while you're at it.
Do not try to "tighten up" an old differential. The pattern in the gears is set, and you will simply send it to a quick whining death.
240,000 ain't bad. As long as your u-joints and bearings are good, it may go another 100k.
