Mud Flaps - Husky vs WeatherTech - Lots of Pics
Earlier this year, when trying to decide which mud flaps / splash guards to go with I was torn between the WeatherTechs or the Huskys.
I wound up buying a set of WeatherTechs. After installing them I wasn't satisfied. The rear ones looked odd. They looked too close to the tires.
I then ordered a set of the Huskys. I like the rear design much better. Still torn on which front ones I like best.
I took several pics of both for those who are trying to decide and have never seen them installed in person.
Hopefully it helps someone.
When I bought the WeatherTechs I paid about $65 thru Amazon.
A month later I bought the Huskys. They were about $75 thru Amazon.
As I was making this post, checking Amazon, I found what looks like a set of Husky knock-offs for $50 . Not sure if legit seller or not though.
Here are pics of the WeatherTechs. Pics of the Huskys lower in this post.....

Weathertechs
I like the Weathertech mudflaps. They look right from the side/profile angle, and they mount perfect with ease. I prefer the slim mudflaps that don't have the 3-D/thick look from the side. I also like the more squared bottom edges over the rounded ones like the husky's have. Anyways, that's my .02

I put Huskies on the last truck and thought they looked nice. The Weathertechs look ..... wrong to me.

But............ They are a different animal in my book.
You have heavy flat "flaps" like the DuraFlaps... ala 18-wheeler or dually look.
Then you have curvy contouring molded types like the Husky and WTs.... ala extended factory protection look.
Is my case, with the look I preferred for my truck, the Duraflaps didn't work for me. I guess you could say with me form trumps function in this case. lol
Although the Huskys and WTs definitely do function well.

The rears just don't flow with the body/fender opening flow and look too close to the rear tire imho.

One needs to watch for rubbing of the paint behind the molded section that covers the lower edge of the fender. I special ordered the stock Ford molded splash guards on my 2015 from the factory and it rubbed the paint on one of the front fenders within 15,000 of the truck being new. I did not notice this until I removed them to go with the Ford flat splash guards that bolt to the fender lips.
One might need some protective film behind the splash guards or watch for possible rubbing of the paint behind them.

Yes, some drilling required. But they are mounted nice and solid.
The Husky's came with clear film. I used it on the rear since the mold was really tight fitting. The front had a nice gap so I didn't use it there. It was a bit of a PITA to put on.
