Question for you electronic whiz kids
On my back up cam in the 2016, when I am approaching an object, it starts showing a green, yellow, or red as I get closer to the object, like a trailer.
Well, to make a long story short, in most light conditions, the colored blocks hide the view of the ball and coupler....rendering the camera pretty much useless when hooking to a trailer!
When I had a 2015, the colored bolcks were not there!
So, my question is, is there a way to shut this feature off, while retaining the rest of the backup camera features?
This is definitely NOT one of Fords better ideas.

OK I tried it in my '15. Turning off the Parking assistant does not turn off the color blocks, just the beeps. I think there is a setting to turn them off, but for sure if I hit the zoom button on the screen they go off and it zooms the part of the screen that covers the hitch.

You should be able to turn the lines off. I could in my 2012 150 and pretty sure I can in my 2016 350. The lines did get in the way on my half ton. I don't worry about them on my 1 ton because when I get close I hit the zoom. Without getting in my truck and figuring this out I can't and right now I'm enjoying the couch too much. Youtube should be able to tell you how!
