Question for you electronic whiz kids

On my back up cam in the 2016, when I am approaching an object, it starts showing a green, yellow, or red as I get closer to the object, like a trailer.

Well, to make a long story short, in most light conditions, the colored blocks hide the view of the ball and coupler....rendering the camera pretty much useless when hooking to a trailer!
When I had a 2015, the colored bolcks were not there!
So, my question is, is there a way to shut this feature off, while retaining the rest of the backup camera features?
This is definitely NOT one of Fords better ideas.

Do you have Parking Assist, the ultarsonic warning thingys? My 15 has these color blocks, but they are triggered by the Parking Assist I think, which you can shut off. Also, if you poke the zoom icon up in the upper left corner of the screen, does it make the trailer ball easier to see?

That is not normal and likely interference or a faulty part. Take it in...

In my 13 I can turn that feature on and off, I believe in the parking assist section on the in dash information screen.

If you are in reverse and are getting the blocks and Parking Assist beeps, the information panel should show exactly how to turn it off: down, and enter. That's on a '15, don't know if it is different on a '16.

OK I tried it in my '15. Turning off the Parking assistant does not turn off the color blocks, just the beeps. I think there is a setting to turn them off, but for sure if I hit the zoom button on the screen they go off and it zooms the part of the screen that covers the hitch.

Ok, I will try that and see if I can get them to shut off! On my '15, which was also a King Ranch, I dont remember them being there. But this is sure a PITA when backng up to a trailer. And they do stay there when I turn the beepers off.

You should be able to turn the lines off. I could in my 2012 150 and pretty sure I can in my 2016 350. The lines did get in the way on my half ton. I don't worry about them on my 1 ton because when I get close I hit the zoom. Without getting in my truck and figuring this out I can't and right now I'm enjoying the couch too much. Youtube should be able to tell you how!

The lines dont bother me, it is the cursed colored block hiding my trailer hitch! If the lines turn off when the blocks turn off, thats ok, too.
