Nice. Looks like you have some busted bed bolts to deal with.... Frame looks good. Under the bed looks challenging.... You can replace those crossmembers with unistrut if need be.
thanks so much for the link to that guys build... i looked around for ideas and found a few that involved bending sheet metal or taking c channel but never thought of using them... i was just going to order the aftermarket replacements dorman makes and call it good but ill check into them.. that might be the way to go.. thanks a lot
BTW, I am digging the OBS 250. Does that have the D60 SAS swap?
Nope she is a stock 1997 F250 other than the custom bumper i made for it.... the bumper came out better than i was expecting.... One thing for sure though if i hit anything the frames gonna bend before that bumper does... i have that thing over built
The dorman ones are pricey. Depending on who you know, you may be able to get scrap unistrut for free. If not, it should be way cheaper than the dorman kit. You could probably get stainless unistrut for the price of the Dorman kit

Nice. My cousin just did the SAS on his 97 F250 7.3 and he loves it. He also swapped super duty springs in to ease the ride. That is a super clean bumper. What thickness plate did you use?

combination of 1/4" and 3/16" plus i boxed the center section between the frame rails with angle iron... it would almost have enough room to house a winch if i wanted to put it in....
ok guys so i think i finally decided what im gonna do as far as looks go for the truck... here is some pics of a truck that im going to be cloning exterior wise minus 4x4 stickers....
havent done too much the last couple days on the truck. Still gettin some of the front end components off....coolant is draining as we speak... Also i went to menards and picked up some unistrut. Ended up spending like 50 for all of it which is a lot cheaper than 300 for the aftermarket bed supports... i Also got my por15 that i ordered... ill be using this stuff on the frame i should have some serious progress by tuesday(hopefully)
hey guys been about a week and a half since i last updated the forum... anyway its coming along im getting close to pulling the motor... i have the whole front end off, the exhaust, and im working on the wiring and the intake manifold.... also what do u guys think about turbo charging the motor? This is kinda what i was thinking: Ford F-250 5.4L Turbo Upgrade | DrivingLine... being my first real project vehicle i know nothing about how to set up turbos and if its even worth my time and money... any help would be appreciated

Wow nice article and we'll not sure what it would cost but those end result numbers are impressive wow!
Right up there with stock diesel even more torque I think when it comes to 6.0. I say look into it do your research and determine costs. Then factor in what your going to use truck for and if it needs more power and you don't want to do a 12v or 24v Cummins swap in price comparison then do it

Yeah the numbers are most defiantly impressive...the intentions for the truck is gonna be a work/ play truck. i wont be using it as too much of a work truck right off the bat but would like it to be prepared. also i do plan on doing the diesel conversion(7.3l) some day just i dont have the cash right now plus with work and college i really wont have the time to work my truck enough to make it worthy of swap....
Well I understand that but the mods you have done already you may have been close to a swap already. That I mean sourcing parts cheap and locally. Follow still like what you have done thus far!
