Sorry guys...

Truck is in NC (small town southeast of Raleigh, about an hour). I am a billion miles away from the truck where it's 130+ during the day.

I have a good friend who has a 6.0L, I'll talk to him and see if he's ever done that work. He might be able to help out, especially if he's done the work before. I'd rather pay him a few bucks than the dealer $600+. He would do it for free (if he can).

jililie, thanks for the info. Much appreciate the info. I'm AF but I work with all services. Had a blast a few weeks ago giving a Marine and a Navy bro crap (back forth of course). Brother in law is (was?) a Marine. I'll leave it at that for opsec -- today's fight... you never know who the f is reading this. But thanks for all the offers for help.

Roger that. ok, then here's some other options i thought whilst i went to get some exercise. Have the wife tell the dealer to giver her a price on remove and clean with fresh gasket. If they refuse, tell her to walk. Then find another reputable mech to do the remove and clean.

Did you know the AF is a branch of the Navy?

Just kidding. Thanks for serving and stay safe.
Let me (us) know if there anything else we can do,
John

Closing the loop...

One of my good friends who also has a 6.0L took care of me. As luck would have it, he JUST PCS'd to our base 2 weeks ago. He and is wife have already shuttled my wife to/from the dealer, taken her out to dinner, grilled out for her for Mother's Day, and now he saved me $650 and cleaned out the HFCM and changed fuel filters for me.

Good friends are awesome.

That said, I knew he wants to do a ton of Sinister mods after his warranty is out (yes, he has a 6.0L still under extended warranty!) so I had Sinister ship him a coolant filter kit.

Thanks for all the offers of help. I think we are good now.

Glad you got it taken care of! Good to know others with this beast.
