Help! Need a shifter **** for T-18 BW

Hello all, just about to hang myself... I have a 1988 F-150 300 (4.9) six with the T-18 Borg Warner 4 speed. The shifter shaft has the damn splines on it and I can find a **** anywhere. I bought an earlier threaded **** and an adapter that was "supposed" to work from American Shifter (joke). Not even close to working. Can't believe no one makes a **** or adapter etc for the 87-91 T-18's with all the other parts available out there. Any help appreciated.

I had the same issue on my 92. Ran a die around it to cut some threads. Problem solved.

Thought about doing that but the shaft/cane is approx 5/8" and I need to go down to 3/8" to get the earlier ball to work. You by chance remember what size die you used?

Can't believe no one makes a **** or adapter etc for the 88-93 T-18's with all the other parts available out there. Any help appreciated.

Use a ball from a pool table. Drill it out and silicone/JB Weld it on. Problem solved.

Do you remember what size die you used. I pull a bolt gauge on it and it comes out to exactly 9/16 but I can't get a 9/16 die to fit on it. 5/8 seems too big?

Does it have to be new? I saw a couple T18/T19 trucks at the junkyard Saturday. I suppose you have looked around your local yards.

It was probably 9/16 I don't remember. Whatever the thread size of the shift **** I had was. You said 3/8 earlier I've never seen one that small.
