'37 Coupe 5.4L or 4.6L ???
Been thinking about putting a 5.4L or 4.6L (both are a DOHC engine) in a '37 Ford Coupe. Well, has anyone done this or know what problems there would be.
The 5.4L is a Lighting (converted supercharger engine), and the 4.6L needs a supercharger.
Without taking out a tapemeasure, can anyone tell me if either one will fit in the frame, or is there a link to a site that can give me a push so I can start.
Thanks

I haven't worked on a 37 but I did have a 34 that I put a 283 into. I don't think the Triton engine is going to fit without cutting the firewall. I would suggest measuring the width of the Triton and the engine bay to see how far you will have to set the engine back to get clearance. You might also find that installing a 302 small block to be easier. Either way, if you like working on cars/engines, it is definetly worth the effort. The old hot rods are babe magnets.
