Hey guys working on a 1984 Ford f250. 7.3. Changed injection pump and fuel filter. And also o-ring kit. Ran fine on off all day Sunday. Tried starting last light cranked a whole would fire and run eventually. Have it more pedal but would choke out. Or idle and choke out.

 

Sounds like you're losing prime somewhere or running out of fuel. How much fuel in the tank?

 

1/2 tank......

 

The fuel pick-ups in the tanks are known to break off and not draw it all out.

May be the case, or not.

Best way would be to strap a fuel container to the front bumper, temporarily run a line to the lift pump, and see if that fixes the issue. If it does, you have issues from the lift pump back. If it still has problems, your issues are post-lift-pump.

Where did you get the replacement injection pump?
