Ok Brainiacs....So, like some of you I installed the upgraded C/T Dometic thermostats late last summer. They seem to be a little touchy right now being cold....so the touch buttons dont work with the cover on, but I take the cover off, and touch the terminals it works fine. Its like the capacitive resistance isnt getting through the control panel to the terminals? Looking inside the faceplate there are what look like wire fibers to connect the face plate to the terminals. Any ideas how to remedy this? I've got the heat on in there now, maybe when it warms up things will be better?

Well, a little internet surfing I find this on the Grand Design forum. I've asked for more info:

I've also filled out a support request on Dometic website.

No Bruce. Trying to solve problem with those fancy new Dometic thermostats I put in last year. Seems the faceplates are faulty.... thought I was going crazy until I found someone with the same complaints on the GD forum. Hurt me to have to register over there just to post a question, and send a PM to the guy that seems to know that there were replacements available.
Although, I'm a bit worked up tonight, now that you ask. So, my Cardinal came back from FR in February with all the repairs done, and with a couple of Freebies they put in for all my trouble. One was the dishwasher.... While at the factory, I asked if it had been water tested, and rewinterized. I was told no, they leak test with compressed air. I said ok.... So fast forward to today, I pulled the bird out of storage and put water to her to flush the AF out. Got the hose hooked up, turn on the water, messing around outside for a minute or two....then go inside to find the floor covered in water....a lot of water..... Seems that they tee'd in the water for the dishwasher, but with a couple minor PROBLEMS! One of the compression clamps on the water line for the T missed the fitting, so it blew off under pressure.... and the brass connector for the T, had the rubber gasket laying on the bottom of the cabinet...instead of in the connection. After I dried up as much as I could, I got it all back together correctly, wiht no leaks. Needless to say I was PISSED. Now I have water dripping out of the belly, I'm assuming its from that, and really hoping not some other leak....I've filled the fresh water tank with water/bleach and have that sitting in the lines now. I dont think the supply line from the onboard tank to the waterpump is split because it was drawing water via the pump just fine, as I was running the bleach/water mix through all the fixtures.
Whew...glad I got that off my back. Tomorrow will be a better day. Oh, and dewinterizing while its winter sucks. We got that massive storm here, and its passed through now, but still 33 outside. Supposed to be 60 here by the weekend when we are camping.

The gentleman over on the GD forum gave me this reply:
The problem is with the thermostat cover, Dometic has redesigned the cover. Installation is pop the old cover off, pop the new cover on. The part number of the black face plate is 3317032.013, white is 3317032.000.
To obtain: take your RV to a dealer, please don't laugh too hard at this suggestion; or call Dometic support I think they will mail a replacement to you. The reason I think Dometic may mail the replacement is based on their willingness to send the replacement cover directly to one of my customers once I explained the trip was about two hours to the customer.

Ok, so I had contacted Dometic via their webpage, support option. Explained the situation, and a day later they have dropped 3 replacements in the mail at no cost. I'd encourage any of you that got these new thermostats to contact them and get them, even if you arent experiencing the problem now, you may in the future. I dont know how long they will replace them NC.
