Looking for advice on who to contact

Hello I currently own a 2011 ford f150 raptor with the 6.2l. Started knocking so I took it in to the dealership and they told me it needed a new motor and the engine was sludged up so ford wouldn't honor the powertrain warranty. Well it has been serviced at the dealership every since I owned it, ordered it new, so don't see how ford can justify not covering it. Any help would be appreciated. Thx

Call customer service and have the Vin number, if it's been serviced at Ford dealerships there will be records on their system. I always keep my service tickets in my console so I have proof at hand.

I had called and the customer service rep told me it wasn't a manufacturer defect from the factory but the oil. So I asked didn't they also own Motorcraft, which I assume is the oil the dealership used and she said we aren't affiliated with Ford Motorcraft. Confused about that. Guess I need to speak with someone above a customer rep

Has the truck ingested water or mud or has the truck been submerged? Has the truck had documented regular maintenance? Are you running any kind of a 'tuner'? A sludged up engine is abnormal in a relatively new truck.

oil slugging .. the most common reasons for it.

is moisture entering into the crankcase... and/or not able for engine to exhaust the moisture... burn off...

defective PCV...
very short start/stops. many many times. drive 1 to 2 miles and park...
way to Few oil changes.
cheap/poor gasoline and/or gas with alot of water content.
or you Drive in heavy Rain ... ALOT>

I understand the balking at Ford.

go up the Boss chain... and have Proof .. Records count a lot.

my 6.2l has 140,000 miles and is clean inside.

Wasn't using any oil, the truck has been kept up like a new one why I I very surprised. The most mud or water this truck has ever seen is a muddy dirt road on a rainy day.

My observation is that the auto manufacturers have adopted the same approach insurance companies have used for years.
You would be surprised at how many people will take "no" for an answer and find a way to fix it themselves or pay out of their own pocket. Each of these represents savings for the company.
In your case you purchased a vehicle new, you had it serviced as per the recommended schedule at an authorized dealer/service center that used the recommended parts (or at least charged you for them).
You have fulfilled your requirements and they must honor theirs.
Remain calm but firm and you will ultimately prevail, but be aware that they will fight to save a buck every step of the way.

Take thorough notes and get the full name of every person you talk to and at least a phone number that you can contact them with.

That is what I have been hoping for. I wouldn't accept just a no we won't cover it and the dealership, in which I think it is mostly on their observation why ford saying they won't cover the motor. But the dealership hasn't done their part imo as in not a thorough diagnosis.

You may want to test for coolant in the oil.

I would have it pressure tested to make sure you don't have a coolant leaking into the crankcase of it's still in one piece after being checked by Ford service.

You just don't see a slugged up motors anymore with modern oils and EFI motors, something else is going on or it was just short hopped to death. Even modern oils and motors have to get warmed up to stop what has happened to yours. I have a older F150 that is new to me and it will be short hopped and it will be changed every 2500 miles.
