Ign actuator rod on non tilt manual column ?

Hi,
Hi I have a 85 F 250 4.9 with a non tilt steering column. it's also a manual transmission. Does this model have the steering column actuator that frequently fails?

No, the non-tilt columns aren't prone to break.

You're confusing the ignition switch actuator rod that all these trucks have (see 11A599 in pic) with the tilt wheel actuator lever (it's not a rod).

Thanks number Dummy
I'm confusing them.just wanted to double check.

I do have another question though,
Are all 7 th gen steering box flanges the same ???
I have one off of an 81 and the one off my 85.
The 81 has bolts and a larger rag joint.
The 85 has a smaller rag joint and all rivets..
Can I swap those flanges.
?

By "steering box flanges" do you mean can you swap sector boxes from year to year? Or are you talking about 3A525?

Gary, I'm taking about 3a 525.
I have a
"help "rag joint but it's for the larger flange.
It will take a week to get the smaller one and it's my DD.

Gary: Parts catalog sez 3A525 coupling (aka rag joint) part of 3B676 lower steering shaft & coupling (shown in upper pic) after 2/81.

Lower pic shows 3A525 applications.

Bill - Thanks. So after 2/81 Ford replaced the whole lower shaft and not just the rag joint?

But that doesn't answer the question if the larger and smaller joints can be swapped. And I don't think we can answer it from the catalog itself. In other words, I don't know.
