I've read about the recall for 2011-2012 F150 speed sensor, and it mentions the downshift problems, and the build dates, what is one to do if your having these same problems but my build date is 03/2011, anybody ? They're recalling later in the year.

So you're saying the your build date isn't captured in the recall dates? If so, I'd talk to the dealer anyway and see if an exception can be made.
Yeah I actually saw the same information on the internet this morning at work. Mine was built in June of '12 so I probably will not be affected. Unless they expand the recall later...
I was recently made aware of Ford’srecall (number 16S19) for 2011/12 F150 trucks along with some othervehicles. I was particularly interestedsince I had experienced the exact potential problem described while towing atrailer; specifically a sudden downshift from 6th to 1st. The vehicle went into limp mode and I pulledoff the road, shut it off for a few minutes and restarted it. That was about a year ago and I haven’t hadthe same thing happen again. My vehiclehas a production date of 8/31/11 and was built in the Dearborn factory – all withinthe recall parameters. Still, when Icalled Ford, they verified my VIN met these recall parameters but did not showmy specific vehicle as being under recall. I was told to call a local dealer who could sort the problem out. The local dealer sent me back to Ford whosaid there was some reason my vehicle as not included in the recall but couldnot tell me what it was. That’s whereI’m at today. Does anyone know of asubset of parameters around this recall that would exclude a specific vehiclethat met the published recall parameters?
I'm not aware of any so-called "subset" of parameters where your truck qualifies for the recall, but yet doesn't qualify. This sounds to me like you could be getting the run-around by someone at Ford who may not be very knowledgeable about this recall.
