Well wouldn't the one thing I didn't go through, nor feel like going thru l ***** the bed ...

Saw some clutch spring remnants in the housing when I pulled the starter, so I investigated down the inspection hole. Found another one in the bottom and looks like only one spring left in the clutch

Throw out fork was askew on the throw out bearing too. I yanked it in place but now it doesn't fully retract so now it won't engage the clutch on the flywheel and the truck won't move...

Oh well time to yank the crashbox and put in the synchromesh

Back of the engine was clean at least Rear main seal seams dry on the outside

More shrapnel from inside the clutch housing

Disc was beat anyway

Few dents. Off the be reground. Driveshaft should be ready tomorrow

I'd say that spring is the reason the clutch fork won't go back

Well, driveshaft was shortened, but they clocked it based on a new spline, not the old so it was delayed a day while re-worked

Since the inside work is done (less freshair heater) I put the interior in

Insulated floor to cut down on noise

Looking Good! Does the shift **** bump the speaker grill in reverse? Mine does, but I have a stick out of a '60 F600. It doesn't hit hard, but it will hit.

Really close Mark...like I think I might punch out the speaker grill if not careful

Does the '60 have a single or double bend?
My '63 has a double bend and would definitely hit

It has a single bend. It looks real close to the T9 stick. If I am real careful, I can shift into reverse without hitting the speaker grill. I still need to shorten the PTO shaft. My driveshaft is done.

Need to do the same with my PTO shaft
I need a 3/4x3/4 u-joint for it too, the T9 had a 1" PTO shaft, Heli one has a 3/4"

I also have to modify the dump valve rod but that's easy, PO had the lever right in the middle of the pass floor ... Worked ok but a pain to sit there with it under passenger's knee

Every one I've taken out of a 48-52 has been this one..matter of fact didn't feel like cleaning the one that came out, this ones from an F-6 I took apart and rebuild a couple years back.
Is yours perhaps like in the 53 & later? They're normally stamped and not cast with a bigger donut

Ha!
I'm reserving my brownie for my F-5 MH

I took the 5.83 out of this F-4 to put into that one...put the 2- speed in from that one to make this an F-5

I have to go pick up the other 5.83 R&P for the front axle its sitting out in the woods now

That project is next unless the Napco goes next

Is your two speed 5.83-8.11? I had that axle in my '47 COE, it was really perfect gearing. My F4 has 5.83 gears also. If I wasn't using the Brownie I would put the two speed from my COE in it.
