3.5 EB or straight 3.5
I am in the market to buy f150. Going back to full size after few yrs of driving tacoma. I used to have 2007 F150 with 5.4. Until engine gave me headache.
I tested drove 2.7 xlt. Nice but prefer more punch. Found the 3.5 got two different setup. One with eb with turbo and other dont.
I want to keep thing simple and easy. Which is better? I did ride a pal who got 3.5 non eb, very pleasant and plenty of power.
Oh yeah most comfortable seats.

What to buy would depend on what it will be used for and your personal preferences. I would not buy a 3.5 na to tow or regularly haul heavy loads, but the na version is a very capable engine. Before I bought my current truck I test drove one and powerwise it felt very similar to my 04 4.6 V-8.

Nope, pretty sure he means the N/A 3.5.
The 4.6L V8 in my old Lincoln was rated at 190 HP and 265 ft-lbs of torque. Later models were rated for more power and torque, but only the 3V models made more power than the 3.5L V6.
The 3.5L N/A V6 makes 283 HP and 253 ft-lbs of torque.

Pretty much answered your own questions. Punch and power isn't what I'd use describing na v6.......you want either turbo engine or the v8.

If the mountains you drive in are high altitude, you'll want the EcoBoost. The turbo boost makes up for the atmospheric pressure loss at higher elevations.
Most like the 2.7 that test drive them or have them. If you want a little more punch, put the it in Sport Mode. That goes for both EcoBoosts and the 5.0 V8, not sure if the base 3.5 V6 gets it.

Tom is correct I meant the NA 3.5L V6. You'll love the EB 3.5L climbing the mountains and even more if you're towing up the mountains (or whatever your climb is).
Seats are kind of a personal thing. I like the Platinum seats the best. I haven't tried a Limited yet.
There are different rear gear options. If you like good punch out of the hole maybe a 373 or 355 is a good choice. The 331 seems a little slow 0 to 10 compared to the other gears.
