elm327usb and forscan

Anyone here got this setup,plugs into the obd2 and laptops usb port?

i do not have it yet,i wanted to get opinions before the forscan, ill have windows 10 new laptop, can it work on this?

no clue.
I'm using Windows 7 and the USB OBD, its faster than the blue tooth devise. Whichever is the free download from there website.

Looks like Forscan will also connect via Bluetooth & WiFi.

what version are you useing, im just looking for usb info,i know they are bluetooth as well.

I'm using it on an older laptop running Windows Vista and a wired USB elm adapter. Works good, it's a little picky about the order you connect and Power up. If it had contribution/balance test you wouldn't need anything else. Check your elm version. The latest one is faster, I forget the number but it's been out awhile.

I've read that there are better protocols (than ELM) to use for connecting to CAN vehicles but answers are vague as to why and how they are better.

Rusty,dont it have the inj self test while running or something along those lines,it cks the injectors tho right?

There are fail codes for injectors that have issues and it's accurate and complete about displaying those (really all codes like U series) but I haven't seen a user initiated injector test in there. There are some tests for the insturment panel/gauge sweep and a couple others, I think even an ABS test but nothing specific for injectors.
