Hey guys I need to replace the intermediate steering shaft on my 1977 f150 custom with a 4 speed 351M.
The u joint in the shaft is shot. I have a 6 inch lift on it and need to know the easiest way to change this shaft out. Or is there a way to only replace that u joint.

 

Must be 4WD because 2WD does not have a lower steering shaft & coupler assy (what you call an intermediate shaft).

This is a one piece assembly (see 3B676 in pic). Ford did not supply any parts for it. It's obsolete, so you will have to replace it with a Borgeson shaft.

 

Yea bill does have a 4wd, I have to pull the entire steering column to replace this? Also how do I know what size borgeson shaft I will need? I saw a few different ones. How long should this job take to do?
