Mount spare tire in front?

I had an automatic in the Chevy. I couldn't detect any tranny temperature difference with the tire in front, nor engine temp as noted earlier. Logic tells me there could be a difference in some marginal situations, but I didn't experience any.

Use it only when necessary
Well, I pulled it back off and threw spare in bed as usual. Thanks to everyone for your advice and comments! It worked well when I helped a co-worker move into a new home. Final conclusions are these: 1. Thank God for Pro-line's bumper with receiver built in which gives me an option to carry a spare with my mount. I know it has other uses, and that helps me to appreciate my investment in it. 2. For cooling concerns, I'll only mount the spare up there when no other option is available and take it slow and easy while hauling. 3. I kept it mounted for a few days just to get a feel for driving it. Got to admit, I don't really like it up there because it's a distraction. It doesn't block view down the road, but just seems to be annoying to look around in traffic and city driving.
In summation I hope this helps anyone considering a front mounted spare on this forum. Please feel free to continue commenting or questioning in the future. Thanks again!!!
